Tulsa Indian Art Festival is Coming to Glenpool

todayJanuary 18, 2013

Tulsa Indian Arts Festival

Your chance to explore a variety of Indian art is coming to the Glenpool Conference Center February 8th – 10th. The Tulsa Indian Art Festival (TIAF) is celebrating its 27th year with music, dancing, storytelling, and – of course – American Indian art.

Merlin Little Thunder, a featured festival artist in 1998, has been showing his work at the festival since the early 1990s. Little Thunder says a great part about the annual festival is the feeling of the people coming together to celebrate their culture.

He says, “They’re about community involvement, and I like that…to be able to go out there and mix and mingle among the community and to be part of the Indian art scene and the communities of various cities and counties across the United States.”

This year’s featured artist of TIAF is Kimberly Greene-Bugg of Oneida Six-Nations.

The first night of Tulsa Indian Art Festival includes the Premiere Night Celebration, as well as a dinner with scholarship awards and auctions.
