Press Play: Kaiser Chiefs

todayNovember 28, 2016

Everyone has their own reasons for listening to the music that they do. We choose to invest our time, energy, thoughts, and feelings into something that isn’t tangible.  It is because it provided us with something; whether it is a sound that vibes with us in just the right way or lyrics that resonate and make us feel connected to other people. But, sometimes we will give an artist a shot just because of who they are and what they stand for. This is the case with the Kaiser Chiefs,  not only do they have a penetrable sound; they are also just an extremely likable band. Here are 5 reasons to press play on Kaiser Chiefs.

  1. They are constantly striving for success. The band was recently asked if headlining at festivals still mattered to them to which they responded “Everything matters”.  Listeners can rest assured knowing that the success that Kaiser Chiefs have achieved so far has not caused them to be complacent.
  2. Kaiser Chiefs view success in an evolutionary way. The band says that it is becoming harder to quantify what constitutes success, and that they find it liberating that is becoming measured by personal satisfaction.
  3. They give back to others. The band will be kicking off Nordoff Robbins shows in December. Nordoff Robbins is a non-profit organization that offers music therapy to individuals with cognitive
  4. The band is willing to  stand up for others.  The band recently came to the defense of music artist Lily Allen after the singer received some backlash for apologizing on behalf of the United Kingdom for not offering asylum to Afghan refugees.
  5. These guys aren’t afraid to switch things up. The band’s newest album is a far cry far from their garage rock beginnings. The band is experimenting with pop sounds at the risk of being called sellouts by longtime fans. The band says that if pop kids don’t listen to rock then maybe it’s time for rock to change it tune.kc

If you haven’t checked out this band then you have every reason to.  Be sure to press play on their newest album Staying Together.
