Horton Records Release Tulsa Artist Compilation Album

todayMay 1, 2020

Today, Tulsa-based nonprofit record label Horton Records released Vibrations From Tulsa, a compilation of songs from 17 different Tulsa bands. The album has a diverse palette when it comes to sound with genres ranging from garage and psychedelic rock to metal and punk. It includes a track from Golden Ones, The Shelter People, Freak Juice, The Panda Resistance, Blind Oath, Tom Boil, and more. There’s something for everyone in Vibrations From Tulsa.

“We’ve been wanting to do a compilation like this for quite a while, but because there are so many great artists in Oklahoma releasing full albums who need help, we haven’t always had enough funding to assist everyone,” says Horton Records president Brian Horton. “We pushed this project up the priority list for 2020 and felt that it was time to get it done. We did our best to include as many different artists as possible. Nearly every song on the album is a new, unreleased track. The album art and layout is a collaboration between Dylan Aycock, Phil Clarkin, and Steve Hammons. The recordings were done at a variety of different studios in the area, and we’ve included lengthy credits for every song to fully recognize all of the fantastic resources around here that make it possible to record music.”

On April 1st, Horton Records premiered lead single “Call to Arms,” by Tulsa rock band Golden Ones. They also premiered a music video for the song which features Golden Ones live at Cain’s Ballroom at the annual Horton Records Rock n Folk n Chili Cook-Off on November 9th of last year. Check out the music video below.

Horton Records has Vibrations From Tulsa on limited edition double vinyl, CD, cassette, and digital available now on their Bandcamp. Bandcamp is waiving its share of sales revenue today (as well as on June 5th and July 3rd), so now is the time to buy.
